Known for his reassembled discarded statues of saints, Jacques Frenken (1929-2022) is one of the founders of Dutch Pop Art. His art knows no bounderies; paintings, stained glass, still lifes and drawings are part of the oeuvre of Jacques Frenken. The strength of his works is that they originate from a deep experience of music, of religion and of visual art. The works he created are unique, and look nothing like that of anyone else. In his very different style periods, he has made work that still looks current and original, but at the same time reflects the time in which it was made.
