Nicolette Bénard NL, b. 1968

"I want to address the theme of beauty. Or perhaps even satirize it."

Transformative art on the balance of perfection and imperfection. That is what the unique collectible design items by Nicolette Bénard are about. Nicolette Bénard (1968, NL) is a Dutch designer and visual artist, known for her distinctive sculptures in which forms appear captured within plexiglass. Light and shadow move through the material, creating a dialogue between transparency, reflection, and perception. Her works explore the fine line between perfection and imperfection, inviting viewers to reflect on beauty, identity, and the illusions we embrace.

Trained as a goldsmith and jeweler at the Vakschool Schoonhoven, Bénard brings precision and refinement into her visual art. Inspired by her mother’s elegance and love of pearls, she developed Project B, where icons become symbols of beauty and social expectation often infused with subtle irony and humor.

Her sculptures have been presented internationally in galleries, art exhibitions, and museum collections, establishing her practice at the intersection of collectible design and contemporary art.
