CAMERON PLATTER //
Cameron Platter (1978, ZA) is a South African contemporary artist known for his eclectic and thought-provoking works. His work in drawing, painting, sculpture, tapestry, ceramics, video and digital appropriates and filters the vast amount of information available today in a very personal and idiosyncratic way. His postmodern and multidisciplinary approach to making art, blurs the distinction between high and low, and draws from diverse sources as art history, ecology, psychedelics, fast food, advertising, therapy, education and consumerism. This year, we present a vibrantly colorful ceramic body of work that Platter created during his residency at EKWC in Oisterwijk.

DIEDERIK SCHNEEMANN //

Dutch artist & designer Diederik Schneemann (1979, NL) is best known internationally for works that balance between art and design. Applied art in the broad sense of the word, which conveys more than aesthetics alone. His works are characterized by evoking astonishment, a memory or a sentiment. In his use of materials and forms, he usually uses existing objects and forms that carry their own charge or story. Diederik Schneemann attracted great attention with his Matchbox cabinet and a chandelier of hundreds of brilliant perfume bottles.

BAS GEERTS //

Bas Geerts (1971, NL) is a Dutch visual artist, music programmer, and writer whose work explores the confrontation between power and powerlessness. Since 2023, he has been developing an ongoing series of double portraits in which silhouettes of victims and those in power are superimposed, questioning the disproportionate relationships between them and giving voice to the oppressed. His paintings are characterized by an openness of form, expressed through vibrant colors made from pure pigments and the use of reflective metal leaf that changes with the viewer’s position. The compositions are generated through a computer program he wrote himself, incorporating random parameters that continuously produce new visual outcomes. In this process, Geerts blurs the line between intention and chance, challenging the notion of artistic control and emphasizing shared responsibility between artist and viewer.

IDE ANDRÉ //

Ide André (1990, NL) is a Dutch artist whose paintings emerge from energetic physical acts. Each work can be understood as the sediment of movement; traces of force recorded on canvas like visual scores or seismographic registrations. His process often involves ropes, cables, and other tools that leave rough, dynamic marks across the surface. These gestures are not spontaneous in a romantic sense, but part of what the artist describes as an “arrested action”: a decisive moment that has already taken place. The viewer encounters the aftermath - the echo, the reverberation - rather than the act itself.
