From Thursday, March 26 through Sunday, March 29, MPV Gallery will be at Art Rotterdam with a presentation by artists Cameron Platter, Diederik Schneemann, Bas Geerts & Ide André.

Cameron Platter approaches ceramics as a deliberate act of resistance - against the speed of the digital age, against the perceived gatekeeping of the craft, and against his own former limitations. During his three-month residency at the EKWC in Oisterwijk, he stripped his practice back to its most elemental form: earth, fire, water, and his hands. No moulds, no 3D printers, no assistants - just the ancient ritual of hand-building vases, a form humans have practised for thousands of years.

His method is rooted in deep immersion and a willingness to not know. Platter arrived with intentions rather than plans, allowing the material itself to lead the way. Clay, he discovered, is not passive - it guides, resists, and surprises. He embraced this unpredictability as the very engine of his creative process, trusting that time spent in uncertainty would eventually yield something meaningful.

Over the course of the residency, Platter accumulated a dense technical vocabulary - from quartz inversion and endothermic reactions to reduction firing and the subtle alchemy of self-mixed glazes - not as an end in itself, but as a means of getting closer to the material on its own terms. The learning was physical, slow, and sometimes humbling. Yet it was precisely this friction that gave the work its depth. By the time he left, his toolkit had grown modestly but significantly: a scraper had replaced the fork. In Platter's hands, that small shift says everything.

From Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th of March, MPV Gallery will be at Art Rotterdam with an presentation of artists Cameron Platter, Beat Zoderer, Diederik Schneemann, and Bas Geerts.

The Summer Group Show is a variety of colourful work by selected artists represented by our gallery.

During Art Rotterdam we showed the premiere of Cameron Platter an artist who is new to MPV Gallery. Now we will feature this new artist in our gallery as well.

From Thursday 1 February to Sunday 4 February MPV Gallery will be at Art Rotterdam with an introduction of artist Cameron Platter and new work by artist Gijs van Lith.
