Emilio Timp NL, 1993

"Emilio Timp is constantly searching for exactly the right tension between form, mass and counterweight to achieve a seemingly impossible balance."

Emilio Timp (1993, NL) is a Dutch sculptor who explores balance, harmony and abstraction through biomorphic form. Working primarily in metal - cold-forged copper, cast bronze, welded steel - he transforms engineering principles into serene, precarious compositions. Recurring in his practice is a fascination with the visible physical forces at play in human-made structures, such as bridges and cranes, translated into sculptures that appear to hover between tension and stillness.
