In her work, Gönül Albayrak (1973, TR) focuses on the tension between women's strength and inner vulnerability. Emotions such as fear, anger, guilt, and insecurity, driven by oppression, sexism, expectations and the beauty ideal are always present. Gönül Albayrak reunites several worlds and cultures in her work and wants to show us that we all have the same emotions regardless of the culture we live in.
