This work shows a double reflection. Initially it is a mirror in which you can have a complete look at yourself. When you turn on the light, all you see is your face, in the black circle. On top of your head a materialistic tower of photographed objects appears. The objects are piling up…

Dutch designer Jelle
Mastenbroek (Groningen, 1988) is known for his interactive installations,
reminiscent of machines, musical clocks or life-size music boxes. With a push
of a button, the insertion of a coin or some other action, a whole process of -
mechanical - reactions is evoked. Playfully and with a touch of humor, they
make you think, for example, about how we deal with money or data privacy.

Jelle Mastenbroek studied
briefly at the Minerva Academy and then left for Eindhoven. He graduated from
the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2012 in the direction of "Man and
Well-Being. He received the Milano Design Award in 2016 in Milan together with OWOW
in the 'Best Technology' category for his installation Data Orchestra. His work
has been exhibited in Keramiekmuseum Princessehof in Leeuwarden, the Haags
Gemeentemuseum and the Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen, among others.
