TURBULENCE AND FLUX // Gerben Mulder
Visit Gerben Mulder's solo exhibition 'Turbulence & Flux' at MPV Gallery in Oisterwijk. A colorful presentation of his most recent series of floral still lifes alongside a selection of abstract portraits and narrative scenes.
Gerben Mulder is a distinctly expressionist painter. He works directly and seemingly unvarnished. The dynamism of his artistry also manifests itself in his working method. Mulder can be busy with several works at the same time and he alternately uses different techniques and materials. His artistic genres cannot be unequivocally defined either. Flower still lifes and storytelling scenes, traditionally contemplative in subject matter, become with Mulder instead the expressive carriers of a highly moved state of mind.
Mulder's expressive floral bouquets from his most recent series of work, sparkle with energy. Each pencil stroke - usually a petal or a leaf - exists separately, suspended in space, like a kind of exclamation point. The result is a vibrant painting - an explosion of paint, brushwork and cheerful flowers.
Visit the exhibition 'Turbulence & Flux' through February 25 at MPV Gallery in Oisterwijk.
