Sylvestre Gauvrit FR, b. 1977

“Through my artwork, I hope to create heightened awareness of the moment and encourage people to embrace the here and now.”

Sylvestre Gauvrit was born in a forest in France among ancient oak trees. As a child, he spent most of his time climbing trees and observing nature, but later in life he traveled the world to surf. Sylvestre had a natural talent for sculpting. He trained at the Accademia Belle Arti in Carrara and then worked in various institutional art studios in Pietrasanta, where he further honed his skills in sculpting monumental marble pieces. Sylvestre eventually established his own studio to create his unique sculptures, which now adorn both public and private collections in major cultural institutions around the world.
