"Each material has different characteristics, memories and stages and I try to find a way to exploit them."
Aron Demetz (1972) is an Italian sculptor who mainly uses traditional woodcarving techniques to create life-size sculptures, experimenting with both the possibilities and limitations of wood. Injury, healing and metamorphosis are basic themes in the work of Aron Demetz. Demetz's sculptures are a combination of man and nature and therefore reflect the vulnerability of both.
